Meet our Team
Joseph DelVecchio, DVM

Dr. Joseph DelVecchio earned his Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from the University of Georgia in 2006, and spent the next 7 years as a small animal practitioner in southern Massachusetts before moving to Southern California to join the staff at Parkview.

He enjoys helping owners provide enriching environments and effective preventive care for their pets, with a focus on maintaining the best possible quality of life for their four-legged friends.

In addition to working with dogs and cats, Dr. DelVecchio enjoys occasionally helping out with less traditional pets, including ferrets and reptiles.

When not at Parkview, Dr. DelVecchio spends his time reading, cooking, touring museums and trying to keep his cockeyed cat, Tony, out of trouble. He enjoys limited success with that last one.

Robert Kaplan, DVM

Dr. Kaplan was born in Bronxville, NY and grew up in the suburbs of New York City. His father was an owner of a small animal practice for 30 years, and a veterinarian for almost 40 years.

From an early age Dr. Kaplan worked hand in hand with his father at his father's practice. It was through working with his father at his practice, and through observing his father's efforts to alleviate the suffering of pets and their owners, that Dr. Kaplan fell in love with veterinary medicine and developed a life's ambition to become a veterinarian.

Dr. Kaplan attended Boston College as an undergraduate receiving a bachelor's degree in Biology through the Boston College pre-medical program. He then attended the Cornell University Veterinary College where he obtained his doctorate of veterinary medicine.

Soon after becoming a veterinarian Dr. Kaplan decided that he had suffered through enough frigid Northeast winters and decided to move to the West Coast to enjoy some sunshine and warmth!

He has worked in both general and emergency practices since coming to the West Coast. He works with a variety of different species including dogs, cats, reptiles, small mammals, and birds, and likes to think of himself as being willing and able to see any ill pet in need of care.

Dr. Kaplan's special interests include ultrasonography, advanced soft tissue surgery, and exotic medicine. He is currently also working to advance his skills in orthopedic surgery.

Dr. Kaplan, in his free time, enjoys spending time with his wife, Ivett, and his two cats, Superfly and Nubbins, who he adores.

He likes enjoying the great outdoors, traveling, and reading fantasy novels. Dr. Kaplan is a devout Christian and perceives his work as a veterinarian as his way of giving back to the world for all the blessings that he has been shown during his lifetime.
